In the UAE, government health authorities offer internship programs for young graduates, providing them with an opportunity to apply their university training in real-world settings.
Abu Dhabi
The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi offers an internship program for graduates of Medical and Dental programs. Applications are accepted annually from March 1 to March 31.
How to Apply
- Visit https://www.doh.gov.ae/
- Navigate to “Initiatives and Programs” > “Medical Education” > “Internship Program”.
- Click on “Start the application here” and follow the instructions to sign in with UAE Pass.

- Recent photo
- Passport copy
- UAE Residency Visa (if available)
- Emirates ID (if available)
- Graduation certificate (less than 2 years old for non UAE nationals, less than 10 years old for UAE nationals)
- Transcript showing GPA or percentage
- CV
- No objection letter from current employer (if applicable)
- Proof of English proficiency (for international applicants)
- Additional documents may be required.
Dubai
The Dubai Health Authority offers a unified internship program, providing practical training for Medical and Dental graduates. The program starts in August for Medical interns and September for Dental interns.
How to Enroll
- Visit https://dha.gov.ae/
- Go to “Medical Education” > “Medical Education and Research” > “Unified Internship Program in Dubai”.
- Click on “Click here to apply” and log in with UAE Pass or a DHA account.

- “To whom it may concern” letter confirming graduation
- Passport copy
- English language proficiency certificate
- Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) report
- Application processing fee
- CV
- Emirates ID copy or letter pledging to provide it.
Emirates Health Services
Emirates Health Services offers internship programs for medical graduates to integrate their university knowledge with clinical work in hospitals or clinics. Priority is given to UAE nationals.
How to Enroll
- Visit ehs.gov.ae
- Click on “Services” > “Training and Development Services”.
- Find “Request for Registration in the Internship Programs” and click “Start Service” to sign in with UAE Pass.

- Certified copy of Academic Degree Certificate

- Family book (for UAE nationals)
